Find me on:

Over the last month we’ve had several new team members join us. We look forward to telling you about our additional experts as we continue to grow our consulting and developer product practice this year. If you want to be next to join us, consider applying to one of our Angular Engineering positions from anywhere in the USA or Toronto (Canada). We also consider remote Angular experts, if you have what it takes.

Meet our new Design Lead

First up, we have Chelsea D’Urso, whose design experience spans across industries, company sizes and countries. As part of the marketing and product development teams, she keeps us on track when it comes to UI, visual design and branding. Here’s a bit more about her, in her own words:

“I have had the great luck of leading two local startups through creating a brand identity in the fashion and real estate industries. I have also acted as a user experience and interface consultant at a large digital agency where I worked on a new Wearables device and dashboard from concept to production in a mine. I was the design lead on an Agile software team for Corus Entertainment, helping design the website experiences for brands like HGTV, the Food Network and Slice, where I was responsible for their rebranded site design. Before joining Nrwl, my last project was helping one of the top five Canadian banks to reimagine their retail banking app experience.”

We are thrilled to have Chelsea working alongside us, and Chelsea is too!

“I am humbled that I have been able to gain the breadth of experience that consulting has afforded to me and I am very happy to have found my home at Nrwl,” said Chelsea.

Meet our new Senior Angular Engineer

Next up, Isaac Mann is a Sr. Angular Engineer with a background in advanced Angular component design and UI/shared component patterns. He has worked in biotech, advertising, enterprise software and developer education for the last eleven years. We’re excited to work with him.

In his own words, Isaac describes his career journey:

“I spent years working at an ad agency to make websites that closely adhered to a beautiful design while adapting to the variability that is inherent to the web…. As I began to add more javascript functionality, I was thrilled to see the expressiveness that modern frameworks enable. There’s something incredible about the way HTML, CSS and JS augment each other to deliver satisfying experiences to users.”

To build enterprise software applications, Isaac dove into the Angular ecosystem.

“As I was consuming content, I noticed that the React community was putting out a lot of content about the best ways to compose components, but the Angular community wasn’t focusing on that. Wanting to help others, I started publishing Advanced Angular Component Design blog posts on Angular in Depth. Later, I turned that same series into a video course on Egghead.io.”

At Nrwl, Isaac says, “I get to work on projects that help the entire Angular community, and I get to collaborate with amazing people who know their craft and love to share their knowledge. Nx and Angular Console (Our open-source products) are only the first fruits of this vibrant cocktail of ideas and innovation. I can’t wait to see what else emerges.”

Meet our new Angular Engineer

Zack DeRose, joins the team next week. In his first software development job he built custom Interactive Voice Response (IVR) applications and full-stack solutions. He started leveraging the power of Angular and engaging with the Angular community when he needed to get an Administrative Web app for a large enterprise project that was months behind, back on track.

Prior to joining Nrwl, Zack was Lead Engineer for a front-end team where they heavily leveraged NgRx and Nx to build out the code base for custom solutions and products.

“I think my previous team did a great job of leveraging Nx (Nrwl’s open source toolkit) to scaffold our code base, but now being at Nrwl and being able to work with Fortune 500 companies to help them adopt best practices is extremely exciting.”

Meet our new Executive Assistant

Our last new Nrwlian to tell you about today is Karol Przybytek, our new Executive Assistant, who has been in operations and office administration for 20 years. In her various roles, she has experience in human resources, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, contract administration as well as other administrative functions.

Karol has worked in many different service and production companies, including in environmental consulting, manufacturing for military grade fuel systems, and financial advisory.

She says: “I was very intrigued by Nrwl’s founders’ vision and plans for the future of the company. My position will allow me to use my knowledge and experience to help them get the processes and procedures in place to allow Nrwl to focus on the growth of the company as well as their clients.”

As for what’s to come, Karol says “I look forward to working with the team to get the programs in place that will make things more seamless…. to allow Nrwl’s engineers to focus on our client’s projects instead of dealing with administration.”

For all of our new employees, the feeling is clear — they’re excited to be part of a newer company with tons of potential.

Chelsea D’Urso says, “I love the culture that Nrwl has built, with a close tight-knit group and a flexible working style. The balance of working remotely and in-office provides such an incredible and productive environment to design and collaborate in. I was particularly excited about the opportunity to make an impact early on, building and evolving a brand. Laying the foundation for design principles and practices.”

Our values of transparency, thought-leadership, support and inspiration for our team, our clients, and the community stands out too.

Zack said, “I don’t think there’s a better place to give back to the Angular community than at Nrwl, with tools like Angular Console and Nx.

“To work with the quality of engineering talent that Nrwl has is especially attractive — and the prospect of scaling engineering and Angular practices, and working alongside some of the best companies (is appealing),” said Zack.

Karol said, “One of the main things I appreciate is Nrwl’s dedication to quality versus quantity. Not only in the size of the staff but of the client base. I found both founders, Jeff and Victor, to be very personable and easy to relate to. For me this was very important as I am not very tech savvy.”

Chelsea D’Urso said she is most enthusiastic about Nrwl’s advocacy for design, career development and continuous learning:

“Sharing knowledge and experiences, organic collaborations, working with people who are passionate and brilliant leaders in the field.”
